Hydro power

If I where to build a house with any energy source, I would use hydro power. I chose this power source because it is renewable and has a lot of potential energy. I would by a plot of land by a river and dam up part of it. This would provide my house energy and it would not pollute the air. I find this a very good energy source.

Now, there are some problems to hydro power, but they are easily fixed and every thing has its problems! First, I would fix the flooding problem that comes when you first dam the river. I would use this water to irrigate near by farm land, or if there is no farm land, I would use this water to make a recreational lake. There by negating the after math of flooding many acres of land. Next, I would fix the problem of disrupting the migration pattern of any fish in the river. To fix this problem, I would build a small stream to the side of the dam so that the fish could continue there basic route.

All in all, hydro power is a great energy source! It is renewable, clean, and has few disadvantages. It could power a large part of America. I hope we all start to see the true potential of hydro power.

I was amazed my parents had most of the same traits. They both had a mix of recessive and dominant. Believe it or not I am the exact same as my dad. (Which is almost like my mom!) But people do compare me and my dad alo so I was not surprised.

Energy Sorces

Should we use more nuclear power to generate electricity? My anwser is yes! Almost everyone today is effected by electricity in one way or another. We use it to light are homes, power our computers, some use it even to shave! Our society today would be lost without electricity. We are quikly runnning out of the fossil fuels that we use to produse the electricity. That is why nuclear power is such a good power source! You see, even though uranium, the element used to make nuclear energy, is a nonrenewable resource it is so abudant that it is found in rocks all over the world. There are so many advantages to using nuclear energy and so little to dislike about it. Using nuclear power to generate electricity does not pollute the air or water because it is done inside the reactor. Plus, the energy from nuclear power is so great that a piece of uranium the size of your fingernail is equal to 150 gallons of oil.
There is a down side to Nuclear power though. After so much energy is prodused, the reactors can become radioactive. This is dangourous to the people and enviremont that are near the plant. At this point, we basically throw the reactors into a big pool and wait for them to lessen in radioactiveness, which does work because of radioactive decay. This process can take thousands of years though. But scientist are working to fix this problem. They now are building a facility to better house the reactors.
I hope you now see my point! Nuclear power is a great resource that we could use so much to our advantage. I just hope tat the rest of America relizes before it is too late.

My First Blog

I loved learning about the different ways sugar dissolved! It was so much fun. I think the reason I liked it the most was that we got to eat the sugar cubes. But I did learn several things from this. Things like the sugar dissolved in hot water faster than in cold water, and stirring the sugar worked better than letting it sit there. This was a great experiment because I learned a lot about what effects a substance dissolving and I had fun doing it.
